Privacy Policy

Who we are

AudioTranscribr is a transcription API operated by MartinG Technologies, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers https://audiotranscribr.com and the API at https://api.audiotranscribr.com. Questions or requests: info@audiotranscribr.com.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address, the plan you chose, and the identifiers our payment processor assigns to you.

Payment details. Card and billing information is entered on pages hosted by Stripe and goes to Stripe. We never receive or store card numbers.

Your content. The audio or video you submit (uploaded, or fetched from a URL you give us) and the transcripts produced from it.

Usage records. For each API request: time, route, response status, latency, IP address, user agent and the identifier of the API key used. For each transcription: its length, language and status. We use these to bill accurately, enforce limits, debug and prevent abuse.

Email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence.

This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider records standard request logs.

How we use it

To provide the service: transcribe what you send, give you the results, meter usage and bill you.

To keep the service running and secure: monitoring, debugging, rate limiting, abuse and fraud prevention.

To contact you about your account: a welcome message, key-recovery links you request, billing and service notices. We do not send marketing email.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your audio or transcripts for anything other than providing the service to you.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose listed:

Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, logging and transactional email. Data is stored in the United States.

Deepgram — automatic speech recognition. Your media is made available to Deepgram for transcription and is processed under Deepgram’s own terms and privacy policy.

Stripe — checkout, subscriptions, invoices and the customer billing portal.

We may change providers; this page will be updated when we do. We disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

How long we keep it

Submitted media: deleted automatically 7 days after upload.

Transcripts and result files: deleted automatically 30 days after they are created.

Request and application logs: 30 days.

Transcription records (identifier, status, length, language — not the content) and account and billing records: for as long as your account exists, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires.

You can delete a transcription, its source media and all its result files immediately with DELETE /v1/transcriptions/{id}.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Stored media, transcripts and records are encrypted at rest. Result files are served through short-lived, signed links. API keys are never sent by email. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you without undue delay.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or close your account, by emailing info@audiotranscribr.com from the address on the account. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to complain to your data-protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.

If you submit recordings of other people, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for giving them any notice the law requires.

Children

The service is for businesses and developers. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

International users

We operate from the United States and process data there. If you use the service from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes

When this policy changes we will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will email account holders.
